Staff Software Engineer & Engineering Manager

I lead teams that build application platforms. 12+ years across K-12 school security hardware, real-time fintech, and SaaS — most recently driving agentic AI-assisted delivery across a core platform team.

What I do

Three kinds of work I have done for years.

Platform & architecture

Real-time services, device integrations, and getting systems off a monolith without stopping the business.

  • 100,000+ requests per hour at 99% availability
  • Live FX platform across 25+ currencies and 4 banks
  • Hardware integrations over TCP/UDP, mDNS, RS-232

Engineering leadership

Building teams that keep shipping after the consultants leave: hiring, mentoring, review standards, and delivery practices that outlast the high intensity development season.

  • 3 teams of 3–7 engineers across 3 client projects
  • Core platform team of 6 at Audio Enhancement
  • Agile, kanban, and definition of done adopted department-wide at Zions Bank

Product delivery

From discovery through support, with AI woven into the parts of the pipeline that pay off.

  • 10+ SaaS products shipped in 2 years
  • 50% faster PR turnaround, unit tests 65% → 80%
  • Hardware QA cycle cut from 15 minutes to 2
